More about Budapest

Tidbits of info found here:

First stop on our spring journey to Eastern Europe is Budapest.  Our first hotel is Sofitel Budapest. Here's a sample of a salad from their Paris restaurant, with recipe if you just can't wait!

Isn't this an incredible view from our hotel's restaurant?

Always call your taxi, never take those unofficial ones. For example Fö taxi is one of the bigger chains, +36 1 222 2222. Just call (they speak English), and you'll get one in a few minutes any time of the day. A typical 15 min trip will cost you around 1000huf (less than $4) which is not bad! Ask the bellman at our Sofitel Hotel.

Looking for the local currency? Go to the Gold Exchange by Blaha Lujiza Ter since they've got some of the better rates, or ANY of the banks. Lots of larger places take credit cards, but small coffee shops, bakeries, so on will only take cash.

Some of us like to ride a bicycle to explore the city while we are visiting ....but please don't do this:
